Fall Out Boy: A Review

Nothing like spending Saturday night baking under the hot New Jersey sun at PNC Bank Arts Center.  Friends and I trekked to the middle of the state to see Hoodie Allen, Wiz Khalifa, and Fall Out Boy take the stage and entertain us for a few hours.

To say we were the cranky old people in the crowd is unfair to me and more of a reflection on who Fall Out Boy appeals to.  Silly me for expecting the crowd to be ages 15-35, the crowd was 7-17 with a handful of parents “supervising” and maybe 20 of us between the ages of 18 and 30.  But that didn’t really dampen the show once Fall Out Boy took the stage.

But prior to Fall Out Boy taking the stage, we sat through some interesting moments.

Album Review: All The Ways You Let Me Down by Candy Hearts

It feels like the promotion around the new Candy Hearts album has been non-stop. Maybe it’s just me but the articles, interviews, and profiles seem endless. Red Bull Sound Select Invades Brooklyn & Cait Tries To Play It Cool

Now, I could spend the next few hundred words extolling the brilliance that is the Bouncing Souls and Brian Fallon, but after attending my second Red Bull Sound Select show and counting up how many pixels I’ve devoted to these men, I figured I should really focus on the whole night.

For those of you who don’t know what Red Bull Sound Select is, holy cow you are missing out! Once a month, all across the country (11 cities to be exact) Red Bull gets together with well known artists and puts together a showcase featuring the artist and local bands hand selected by said artist.  So basically, if you dig Brian Fallon’s taste in music, well then you should attend shows curated by them.  I highly suggest you check out the site to see if Red Bull Sound Select is putting on a show in your area.

For this show, the headliners were Brian Fallon and The Bouncing Souls *swoon* with the openers selected by Brian Fallon and Brooklyn Vegan.  While at the show, I assumed Brian Fallon and a grocery store catering to vegans had put together this show.  But you know what happens when you assume, you end up terribly disappointed that you can’t get carrots.

UTP Reviews: The Best Ways To Disappear by Candy Hearts

I can't remember the last time that I actually wrote a review. With that understanding I picked an EP to help me ease back into the swing of things. As the NHL lockout continues to stretch on and as Nashville continues to be devoid of anything to bridge high school and NHL hockey I needed a pick-me-up. Conviently Candy Hearts released a new EP today.
