Them Pucks Are Tricky Little Bastards

Look at that mortification

Because I am a good employee that doesn’t fall asleep at her desk (any more), I miss most west coast games.  Which means I missed the first New York Rangers win of the season and will continue to miss their wins until they come back east.  Unfortunately I miss the truly ridiculous: Patrick Roy’s enthusiasm, Jagr’s return goal, the Teemu based circle jerks, etc.

And I miss Jonathan Quick scoring on himself.

Because he didn’t give up that goal, he scored it himself.  As much as I want to feel for Quick for scoring such a dopey goal, it's nice to see this guy:

be reminded that he is human.

But fear not, Mr. Quick, you are in good company.  There are plenty of moments in hockey where goalies are just full of awesome.

Here’s a look at some of the most recent:

Toskala versus The Bouncing Puck
March 18, 2008
Toronto Maple Leafs versus New York Islanders

Okay okay fine, a bouncing piece of rubber is hard to defend against, but there are more from the YouTube channels

Halak versus Himself
November 17,2010
St. Louis versus Red Wings

Still not happy with the goaltending selections?  Okay fine.  How about we go with something that was CLEARLY the goaltenders fault

Bryzgalov versus David Clarkson
May 8, 2012
New Jersey Devils versus Philadelphia Flyers

What do you mean it doesn't count because it's Bryz??  Dammit you're hard to please, okay fine!  How about these next to videoes?

Jonathan Quick versus The 5 Hole
December 8, 2011
Minnesota Wild versus LA Kings

Jonathan Quick versus That *Other* Long Shot
May 13, 2012
LA Kings versus Phoenix Coyotes

Fear not Jonathan Quick, you've a Stanley Cup and the Conn Smythe, they can't take that away from you no matter how many goofy goals happen!
